1905 - Flooding in southwest Connecticut with Bridgeport receiving 11.32 inches of rain and having $250,000 in damage. 1930 - Mississippi records its hottest temperature ever (115F) at Holly Springs. 1986 - Tremendous thunderstorms in Rhode Island produce hail and rains which cause flash flooding . 6.03 inches of rain at Narrangansett RI. 1986 - Lightning struck and injured a man while he was installing drywall in his home in Berne, New York. This was the fourth time he had been hit by lightning since 1977. 1987 - A plane is blown 300 feet down a runway during a thunderstorm at Janesville, WI. 1992 - A tornado hit Big Delta, AK. This was the first tornado to touch down in Alaska since 1979.
