April, I think our state is as good or better than any other surrounding state as far as scenery and beauty. Those who visit WV to take part in or watch the Greenbrier classic will be mesmerized by the scenery and vistas in the area.

I have recenlty spent a good bit of time in Pocahontas and Greenbrier Counties and must admit that I love the area. Marlinton in Pocahontas County has some of the best rail trails in the country and a ride along the Greenbrier River is one that the bike rider won't soon forget.

If there is an item in our state that needs improved that may catch the eye of the visitor, it would be the condition of some of our roads. In some areas of the state they are in poor condition with potholes, spalding and other rough type conditions. I'm not sure why but some county roads are superior while roads in other counties are poor. Pocahontas County is one with excellent roads, they were recently voted I believe number one in WV. Somehow our state needs to look at our road repair techniques and maintenance, it would make a big improvement in the image of our beautiful state.
