WHEELING -- A tractor trailer traveling on I-70 westbound caught on fire around 8:30 a.m. this morning.

Valley Grove Volunteer Fire Department's Fire Chief Bob Young said the fire started in the passenger side of the vehicle due to a part malfunction. The fire totaled the entire tractor trailer.

The driver of the truck spotted the fire and tried to distinguish it until Valley Grove and Triadelphia Volunteer Fire Departments came to the scene.

No one was injured in the fire.

The incident held up traffic on I-70 west for about an hour.

A tow truck hauled the damaged vehicle away.
